Thayne Yungman, Owner, Woodworker, Photographer
Thayne grew up in upstate New York, graduating from Ithaca College in 2004 where he enjoyed studying fine art photography with minors in macroeconomics and interpersonal communication.
The day after graduating, Thayne picked up part time work at a local frame shop and the learning process began. Under the tutelage of a team with over 50 years of experience, Thayne learned the guiding principles of design and the basics of assembly and quality builds for high-end custom framing.
After moving across the country in 2005, Thayne landed with another experienced team at the Gallery at Lands End. Original owners, Vicki and Jay Ford, mentored Thayne and ultimately sold the business to him in 2008 to retire and with trust, excitement and confidence in Thayne’s vision for the future.
Well established in the local community, Thayne and his wife live in PB with their 3 kids, and a 1-mile commute to work. Thayne is dedicated to cultivating space for creativity in the community, featuring high quality custom picture framing, all hand crafted and locally made gifts, and an inviting warm space to create!
Jacki Geary, Designer, Manager, Artisan
Jacki leans on her extensive artistic background to help run the shop and make sure customers are fully supported.
Jacki grew up in Connecticut and moved to San Diego in 2003. She graduated with honors from Western Connecticut State University with a BFA in photography. Jacki has a multidisciplinary background and has been a professional artist for the last 23 years as a photographer, painter, printmaker and most recently, jewelry artist. She opened JAX Atelier in 2018, which focuses on Jacki’s artful, one-of-a-kind jewelry. Having sold her work in numerous retail stores in San Diego, it led her to connecting with Gallery at Lands End. Jacki joined GALE in 2021 as we were all coming out of the pandemic and trying to get back to some sense of normalcy in the small business world. With a keen eye for interior styling and visual merchandising, along with impeccable customer service, Jacki was happy to join the GALE team.
Jen Ball, Designer, Gallery Specialist, Artisan
Jen is a southern California native, proud Aztec alum and San Diego resident for over 37 years.
Jen has always had a love and talent for creativity and design. After many years in the corporate world; being part of the Internet boom and bust in sales and marketing; she decided to take control of her own destiny. In 2004 she started her own jewelry design business selling at farmers markets, wholesale and catalogs for many years. She now creates jewelry designs for the shop and enjoys sharing her flair for design by helping framing customers create the best representation of their art and cherished pieces for preservation.
Thien Nguyễn, Lead Custom Framing
Thien was born in Vietnam, Bien Hoa Dong Nai, northeast of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) and raised in San Diego. His family came to the United States in 1992 when he was about 3 years old. After living in Michigan for a decade in his young adult life, he smartly moved back to San Diego. With over 10 years as a custom framer and painter, he plans to reside in San Diego and work as a painter and work at the gallery until the end of his days and "live happily ever after."
